Opening weekends for Marvel movies tend to be huge at the box office. Captain America: Civil War took in $179 million over its first weekend. That’s a huge increase from Captain America: The First Avenger, which took in $65 million, and even Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which opened with $95 million. With so many Marvel movies released within a year of each other, I was curious how Cap’s weekend gross compared to the recent Marvel movies. Take a look at the comparison.

Avengers remains the biggest opening weekend for Marvel movies, with Avengers: Age of Ultron right behind it. Ant-Man had the least amount for an opening weekend. Will audiences turn out for Doctor Strange, another little-known superhero, in November? Hm.
